Feng Shui Doors, Stairs, Entranceways &Amp; Pathways

By T. Z. Cole

Doors and stairs are the entranceways and pathways that do more than simply allow your guests to enter and move around the floors or into the doorway of your home. Both doors and stairs channel both your family, guests and loved one through your home and allow nourishing qi or vital energies to enter your abode or office. If an analogy can be made its as if the front door is the mouth of your home. The internal doors of your home, corridors and stairway passageways help to keep the vital qi energies rushing, flowing and meandering smoothly, evenly and consistently. If anything can be summarized its to keep your doors aligned so that they swing gently open and close smoothly and evenly and are clear of furniture and other restraints and obstructions to clear pathways and paths.

It is more than vital and imperative that your front door is not directly opposite in line with the back door of your home or office. If this is the unfortunate case then the most vital qi energy will leave your welcome abode or office too early without having adequate and proper time to circulate and flow throughout the building.

Next watch out for aligned doors that are three in a row. Three aligned doors are considered very bad luck and a poor choice in light of the principles of Feng Shui. This is especially the case if and when two of the three of these aligned doors are specifically the front and back / rear doors themselves. In these cases of the three aligned doors you can lessen the damping effect on Feng Shui with the shielding effect of a screen, tall plant or beaded curtains, or even a simple pair or set of relatively ordinary drapes. If not then try hanging a crystal, wind chimes or a pair of bamboo flutes above the center door to draw up the negative sha qi energies dissipated.

Doors at the end of long corridors face the problems of fast moving qi. Its a situation of where the qi reaches a dead end at the end of the corridor, blocking off opportunities and good luck, a mirror hanging on the door may slow down the qi and work to open up and brighten the spaces or spaces.

Lastly never forget the important role and opportunity that the back door itself can play when it comes to Feng Shui. It can be said that the back door is so important and indeed vital in the art and science of Feng Shui as the back door can be said to represent the role of indirect opportunities and opportunities that may seem to just come your way out of the blue. Be wise and thoughtful to give these extra and unplanned for opportunities easy and easiest access by having your back door opening to a wide rather than a narrow pavement. Again avoid having obstruction and clutter directly in the pathway of the door. For example if possible plan not to have an auto garage or even fence directly outside the back door. Keep the areas unobstructed and clear. Lastly large glass doors at the back of your home invite the qi energy and its harmony into your home and then allow the qi energy to flow, dissipate and leave as it pleases.
